Just glad that I can still sniff out a Coleraine name when I see one  ;D
Will be in Coleraine near St. Patrick's  on Wednesday morning and Coleraine Library has some St. Patricks records on microfilm but not the 'recent' ones which would cover the marriage, baptisms of children, etc. and to go back another generation you'll need the fathers' names and occupations.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Here's some photos to let you see what a lovely church it is (I'm often by it but always seem to be there for funerals this last while).

I have a Jane Esdale born around 1829 who married a Robert Anderson in Ballymoney, Co Antrim in 1848 and moved to Glasgow and died there in 1906. Their daughter Jane Anderson married George Roddie in 1877 and there was a Hessie Isdale/Esdale as a witness to the wedding, so there was obviously some Esdale family in Glasgow. Jane Esdale's parents were David Esdale and Esther Kilpatrick. I think David died in Antrim before 1861 and Esther moved to Ontario, Canada with her other children, but I'm still working on this.

Not sure if this family is connected.

Hi Gerry

Is this family in Ontario that you are looking at in Ontario in 1871 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M4QV-WVD

And death for Esther here https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JXHY-TMN

The Hessie you have as a witness possibly names after Hester/Esther?

Yes, this is what I've come across. There's a guy on Ancestry who has a tree connecting her to her children in Canada and lists Jean as a sibling but has no info on her. Jean is a nickname for Jane quite often, so I think it's the same family but I've contacted him to see what information he has for his Jean.

I don't know if the Hessie is necessarily related, but Esther/Hester and Esdale are rare enough names that it's got me interested.

The family trees I can see such as this one http://person.ancestry.co.uk/tree/14712159/person/151127629/facts, have plenty on the sons and daughter Margaret but nothing for Jane. Maybe she wasn't "found" in Glasgow when people were doing their research. Lots of family trees on a/try isn't there.

Many have Margaret born c. 1844 as Margaret Jane don't they.

I am sure you have Jane's death cert which has let you confirm her parents.

Yes, I have Jane's death certificate with both parents mentioned and her marriage certificate with her father's name. I haven't' had a lot of time to look into this family, but just noticed the tree that had a more sources (I have people on Ancestry who don't source their info). I contacted the owner of the tree and will see what we have when we compare notes.

Jane appears to be a bit older than the other children and left for Scotland shortly after she married so they might not have had much contact with her or memory of her.

Wondering if this is the Hessie who acted as witness to the marriage of Jane in 1877 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VBPW-46Z

John Isdale 40 storeman b. Ireland
Jane Isdale 40 b. Ireland
Hessie Isdale 13 b. Ireland
John Isdale 4 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQNN-XBN
William G Isdale 2 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQ5P-SMG
Thomas Patterson 21

Address: 111 New Vennel, Glasgow/High Church

Maybe this is the death of that Hessie (given the birth year) over in Canada https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JDFY-22C
