Hi Ray,
Although I have no record of Lucinda I come from the only Noddings family in N Ireland.
There is so much to tell about our family that this space is not large enough. Lucinda Noddings was I believe the offspring or granddaughter of Christopher Noddings and his wife Lucinda Hopkins born in Seapatrick or Banbridge Co Down. We have relatives still living over there and I have met them. The family line extends to England Scotland and USA.

Lucinda was the g-granddaughter of John Noddings and Sarah Brown of Seapatrick nr Banbridge. Her grandfather Christopher Noddings 1853-1915 was their 2nd son. The house at Kilpike is still in existance.

I am the grandson of Lucinda Noddings Purdy. She immigrated to Canada after the second world war. she had 2 children...patricia and John . I have always asked her about the family history and now years after her passing that her husband was named bert or burt Purdy who was convicted of treason after the war. she married Hubert Carruthers and passed away  Sept 17 ,1993

I know nothing about my grandmother lucinda''s family. I have just begun to research my Father's side of the family. I do know she was born in ireland and worked in barking england as a nurse before immigrating to canada.

Hi

Its was great to get your post :) :)

Bertie Purdy was married to Lucinda Noddings and he was my fathers older brother.

I have fond memories of my Aunt Lou, her daughter Pat was a little older than me and John a bit younger.  I have a photo of Pat and myself aged 2years and 6 months respectively and John and I went to the same primary school in Barking for a while as we all lived on the same estate.

I believe their father Bertie worked in shipbuilding and died as result of some industrial caused illness in 1950. HE WAS CERTAINLY NOT A TRAITOR !

I traced Lucinda and Johns emigration to Canada on the Empress of Britain in 1959 and have often wondered what happened to them and why Pat was not with them.

Would love to share more info and wait to hear from you.

Regards

Hello XRay and Agoneida,

Did either of you ever find more information out about your relative - Lucinda (Noddings) Carruthers? I am trying to find a living relative of theirs. I have reason to believe that they lived in Vankleek Hill, Ontario for some time years ago.

Thanks!

Are you a relative of theirs (or mine)?

What kind of info do you want?

May be I can help.
