Hi Marg,

Maybole, Kirkoswald and Maidens are all within 4 miles off each other. I dont know where Cathcart is? I know there was a doctor's surgery called Cathcart in Ayr but not sure if that is it.

I will actually have the Maybole Cemetery book in the next few days and will do a lookup for Pollock's in that also.

Thanks
Ann Marie

Thanks Ann Marie.
I was looking at the LDS site and found the marriage for Alexander Pollock and Martha Lawson(1858) and some children born to them. Could not find Alexanders birth!
                       Many thanks

Ann,

If there any chance you could look up my Brown family?

Sarah Brown (ms Drumgould) d Girvan after 1841
William Brown d  Girvan after 1841

William Brown d Maybole after 1871
Rosanna Brown (ms Couper) d Maybole after 1881

Sorry about the common names! I'm sttrugling to find their deaths. Is there a lot of Browns listed??

Thanks!
Tracey

Hello Ann Marie,
Thanks a lot for that.  These could well be my people. Ggrandfather certainly had sisters by those names and Mary could be his mother. I take it there were no ages just year of death?
                       Thanks
                                Marg.

Ann,

I don't think either of these are mine,
One William Brown was born 1831 and was a ploughman.
The other William was born in 1796 and was a hand loom weaver.

I really appreciate you looking. Its just a shame its such a common surname (especially on another branch of this family when I have two sets of Browns marrying in also!!)

Its so frustrating that 'Bill Broon' is such a common name!!!

Thanks again!!

Tracey
