Rostherne, Cheshire parish register
« on: Sunday 23 August 09 00:49 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the marriage record for John Stubbs (b. 1801 in Gawsworth, Cheshire according to 1861 census, but living in Bollington near Altricham) to Elizabeth ?? b. 1806 in Millington. I can track them on the England census 1841-1871, but no record of marriage nor of John's birth.
Their first daughter, Harriet, was born 1829 so I guess they were maried 1826-1828.
Bowdon Parish Register does not include this marriage. Both are buried at Holy Trinity in Little Bollington which is part of Rostherne St. Mary's parish.
Does anyone have access to Rostherne Parish Register?

Hello Brierley.
Welcome tp ROOTSCHAT :) :)

I see that you live in Sale in which case I think your best bet is Manchester Central Library to see the Rostherne Parish Register - or the film anyway.  They also have other Rostherne material including monumental inscriptions. Someone else may have the information you need 'reafy to hand' though  :)

Best wishes and the best of luck
