Charles appears in the 1929 at the same address but not in the 1936 directory. Hope that narrows it a bit.

Not sure this is useful or whther I am telling you things you knw
but Edith Elizabeth was Edith Elizabeth Turner dau of William Henry and Elizabeth. I guess this is why you wanted a pic Sparrow Castle as they are living there in 1901.

From St John's parish records William Henry Turner aged 22 married  Elizabeth Cowen aged 25 on 30 March 1891
William's Profession a Labourer, Father William Henry Turner a Carpenter, Elizabeth's John Cowen a Moulder. Witnesses George Cain and Mary Ann Turner

I knew the bones of this but you have filled in more detail than I had.
Are Parish records available online or are they available to you in another form, of course as I go further back they will become more and more important for research?

I only have a smattering of St John's records on fiche. I couldn;t find the childrens baptism so they may have been baptised at Holy Trinity.
But always ask, I may just be able to help

Hi Lizzie

Margate Library has hard copies going back to 1924;

Isle of Thanet Gazette (9 Aug 1924 - )
    Hard copy:
Kent Arts and Libraries, Margate Library: 1924-1960. 1
BLNL: 9 August 1924 -
Microfilm:
Kent Arts and Libraries, Margate Library: 1924 Ã?. A, B, Recordak and Profile films

What information do you need from it, what year etc?

Matt

Just rechecked my post and it looks like Margate library might only have a collection from 1924 - 1960? So wouldn't cover your 1978 and 1996 - or am I reading it wrong?  ???
Charlewood - Ireland, Antrim, Liverpool, Leeds
MacDonald - Glasgow, Lanark
Young - Edinburgh
Douglass - Ireland, Antrim
Flisher - Sandgate, Lydd
