Hi CU,
First I would contact Oldham and Huddersfield Libraries as they have all the history books, local knowledge and old maps. Maybe even Manchester and Leeds as head Libraries. Lancashire records office are a bit dear on research! Yet libraries do charge? but also have up to 1/2 hour free and have capped top off of a max charge £30 ish. Archives /Records offices are for Texas Mill-airs on blind look up charges.

If I find anything I will post it!
Regards
 Dobby

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi, only just joined this site. I think the church that your looking for is St John's Hey, it's in Lees near Oldham, the parish boundary covers the old West Riding

There is another 'Hey'  above Mossley, just out of Greenfield Saddleworth,

See old map at 3.00 o'clock on the map just in from the map right margin, you will see Hole house farm above that Bank terrace then  Hey sightly above that.

On google maps  search

Mossley Abney URC Church (B6175 road)

(Located at what was Bank Terrace on the old map above  at Saddleworth /Mossey boarder)

Huddersfield Rd
