Can anyone please help with  checking census and ships passenger list records for Bridget Magher (spelling may differ as marriage show name as Meagher).  She was born  in Waterford approx 1820 and her parents were John Magher and Margaret Welsh.  She married my GGG/F (William Simpson) in Canada in 1843.

I would greatly appreciate any information on her.

Thank you

Evelyn

History of Waterford Crystal

Newtown School- founded by Quakers

Geneva Barracks was originally known as "New Geneva". The site was intended to house refugees from Switzerland who had been invited to settle there following the 1783 failed rebellion against the ruling French and Swiss alliance in Europe. As artisans, they were valued for their knowledge and skills. The colony collapsed so the government took over the site and built barracks to house companies of militia newly raised following the outbreak of war between France and Britain in 1793. The barracks gained notoriety as a holding centre for rebel prisoners during and after the 1798 rebellion.
