Annie McGillivray was my Grandmother.
I am making the same research as you. I don,t have much on the McGillivray side but do have quite a bit on my side.

Hi and welcome.   There were 9 children of Thomas McGiilivray and Margaret Noble who lived at Alnaha in the later part of their lives:  Isabella,  born 1860 in Moy;  Mary,  born 1861 in Moy;  Janet/Jessie,  born 1864 in Moy (my grandmother),  William,  born 1866 in Moy;  Alexander,  born 1868 in Moy;  Margaret, born 1871 in Cawdor;  Ann,  born 1873 in Cawdor;  Thomas,  born 1876 in Cawdor; Jean,  born 1879 in Cawdor.   If you could let me know how you fit in,  I have a lot of information on the family which I will be happy to let you have.

Best wishes.

Hi and thanks.
Thomas McGillivray was my great Grandfather, and Hannah Sim(e) my great Grandmother.
The family as I have researched is as described by Carole W (but William was actually 22 at the time of the census). So I think we maybe on cross wires?
Best wishes

Do you have any information on William Macgillivray who I understand is the father of Thomas? Many thanks for any info (Jane McG, descended from another Cawdor McG family)

Hi. At the moment I have only got as far as Thomas (My Great Grandfather) b. ca. 1855. He  had a son called William who was born in Simpson Street, Nairn on 18.10.1878. I have not found out any more about him yet either.
Sorry this is not much but I hope it helps.

Look at Roy's online register
which will help as it gives William and Mary Fraser as parents. You will find several siblings too.

Thos + Margt Noble  17 Feb 1859; Daviot 3  SO Wm + Mary Fraser, but not found in 1841 census

My grandmother,  Jessie McGillivray, was the elder sister of your grandmother,  Margaret McGillivray who married John Wilson.   I know a lot about the McGillivrays if you are still interested.

John and Margaret are my 3x great grandparents .... any info on them and the McGillivery family would br great thanks.
