Completed.onumental Inscriptions for Oswestry, Shropshire.

Hi,

Is there anyone who has access to Monumental Inscriptions for
Oswestry Cemetery in Shropshire please?

Gt Grandad's Gravestone is crumbling away because it's made of sandstone and any inscription that was on there has almost disappeared.

My only hope is that maybe there is a record of the inscription held somewhere.

Any help or advice would be welcome.

I'm not aware of any MIs for Oswestry

The Shropshire FHS do have burials but not the inscriptions

Thanks for your reply & the information.

It's disappointing that there are no MI's for Oswestry.

I did buy the SFHS Burials Index CD but Gt Grandad doesn't appear there either.

I see that they have:

Oswestry, Arthur St, Independant Chapel
Oswestry, St David's Chapel
Oswestry, St Oswalds (1872 T/S)
Oswestry, St Oswalds (1991 T/S)

I've had a look at the site and read the notes etc, I will write to the lady whose shown as the contact for possible photocopies of certain MI's.
