Obituary Dated April 2, 1921: The death of Mr. Fred Hobby, of Station Terrace, Brithdir, took place last week.  Deceased, who was in his 38th year, was a signalman at Brithdir Station Cabin, which position he had occupied for the past 18 years.  He was superintendent of St. Paul’s Church, Brithdir, a member of the Parochial Church Council, Bargoed; and for 9 years was the secretary of the Bargoed Branch of the N.U.R. 
Chief Mourners were: Mrs Hobby [widow], Mrs Hobby [mother], Mr & Mrs T Hobby, Mr & Mrs W Hobby, Mr Albert Hobby, [brothers & sisters-in-law].  Mr & Mrs John Davies [father & mother-in-law], Mr & Mrs J George [brother & sister-in-law], Mr & Mrs J Williams [uncle & aunt], Mr & Mrs John Hall [uncle & aunt]
Among the Floral Tributes: From wife & children; mother; Albert, Will & Nellie, Tom, wife & children

From the Obituary details I have found the following BMDs which look about right.

think the Frederick whose birth you found is this one, with suitable siblings

My grandfather was called John Alwyn Albert Hobby. Resides in London don’t know if he is related!
