Wheelwright Order Book COMPLETED THANK YOU

Hi,
I am lucky enough to have my grt grt grandfather's Order book 1852-1854.
Grt Grt Grandfather William was a Master Joiner and Wheelwright.  He seemed to make every farm and garden implement and tools from what I can see.
He lists every item made, which son made it and how long it took.  They had their own sawpit and he listed how long it took two of his sons to saw certain trees.  It's fascinating stuff.
What I can't make out though is on many pages.  At first I thought it was falk lane, but then saw falk casp and axx lane or hane.
Can anyone make out what it is please on the left hand page it has falk casp 2d axx hane 6d and on the right hand side second line falk lane or hane 6d.

I was wondering because of the spelling if it was supposed to be fork handle.
What would a fork casp be then

I also see Axe hane and I thinks - there's not too many wooden bits on a haxe ... same price too.

I guess the other bit (for tuppence) is the crosspiece at the top of a four candle.

  Thanks Geoff.  I think we've cracked it between us.  I think my grt grt grandad spelt fork falk. He spelt nails nales and work whork.  Now I know where I get my speling frome.

I think what you have as hane / lane is actually 'frame' - and the letter which looks like an 'f' in falk is quite possibly a 'p', although I'm still not sure what 'palk' might be.

I'm not so sure about the f being a p..if you look further down you will see the 'p' is quite distinctive...however, the site you have given me is marvellous thank you so much.  It actually has 'hame' which means a pair of projecting horns on a horse collar through which reins pass.

Ooo I'm going to enjoy studying that site.
