Does anyone know if there are:

Births - before 1864
Marriages - before 1845
Deaths - before 1864

for County Donegal please?

The LDS near me only have them FROM these dates.

Can they be looked up?

Seeking ancestors in the Sheercloon/Clonleigh/Castefin areas.

Thanks

1901 and 1911 census lookups - county donegal please?
« Reply #11 on: Wednesday 20 April 05 08:53 BST (UK) »
If anyone can help with the above census' please can you look for anything on the family of "Spence" from Milltown or Beltony or along the way any "Whittaker/Whitager sic" from Beltony, Sheercloon.  Thanks

especially the following  in 1901:

James Spence (and family in Beltony) in 1911 he was a horse trainer - married to Mary and he was aged 45.

Henry/Henery Spence - same - in 1911 he was a labourer aged 35

and in 1911

John Spence - same - in 1901 he was a Flux Scutcher age 35

The Spence family were a large family so hopefully they are all in the same area.
They were all born in County Donegal.

Thanks again

I am not sure whether you are Australian or not, but my family were Whittakers from County Donegal.  If you are Australian, then we are probably related.  If you are American, I would be happy to tell you what I know (part of our family did go to America).

I look forward to your reply.

Regards,
Rennison Whittaker

Searching for the Whittaker/Whittager families, can anyone help please?

Thomas Whittager and wife Sarah - married in Strabane in 1866

known children

William James born 1870 in Raphoe
Matilda Catherine born 1867 in Raphow

Any of them would be great and any others that you come across along the way - many thanks.

Can anyone possibly help me in trying to find some births of three siblings please?

According to the 1901 and 1911 census they were born in "Co Donegal".

Barbara/Barbra was 35 in 1901 (b.c. 1866)
In 1911 she was 58 (b.c. 1853)
A possible death for a Barbara Whittaker in 1941 in Stranorlar, she was 86 (b.c. 1855)

William was 33 in 1901 (b.c. 1868)
In 1911 he was 55 (bc. 1856)
A possible death for him in 1933 in Stranorlar was 78 (b.c. 1855).

The only death I have found for a David Whittaker happened in Ayr in Scotland and he was 60 in 1900 (b.c. 1840).  But he was in Strabane in 1884 and in Raphoe in 1877.

Their parents I am guessing married in th 1840's but I haven't gone through any parish records to find out as I don't know where to start!

Whittaker was also spelt Whittekar/Whitager/Whittager etc.,

I  hope sometime may be able to help as I am having no luck and my nearest LDS centre is some way away to keep going to.

Any  info on any Whittakers along the way would be useful too.  Many thanks for any help.

Forgot to look for Sarah Nabbs?
« Reply #17 on: Wednesday 13 July 05 12:08 BST (UK) »
I forgot to "marry up" William with Sarah - if it is him...

William John Whittaker to a Sarah Nabbs/Nobbs
before or in 1891 and probably Strabane.

I have found a marriage of a William John Whittaker in Gortin in the December quarter of 1883 but I forgot to look for Sarah Nabbs/Nobbs in the same quarter - would anybody be going to the LDS that would have time to look for me please?

Also any other info. ie. in the census of 1901 and 1911
Plumridge in Strabane.

Children included:  Sarah, Margaret, Lizzy, Annie, Matilda and Samuel.

Any other Whittaker marriages along the way would also be welcome.

Many thanks for any info.
