Hello Cathy,

These Haren's from Co. Clare in some way have to be related!  I had a research done at Corofin Centre.  Three Haren brothers settled in Australia. Bonny Tom in Oz is related to me and Jen Haren too, she has shared information with me.
My Haren's are from Tullaghaboy, Kilmaley Parish.

Regards,
DoireM

Hi Doire:)
Thanks for your Reply re Harens   Nice to Hear from you!
Welll if only we can sort out how they connect..My lot who came to South Australia settled first in Clare SA Where there was already a Haren Family from clare   hmmmm wionder if they were related  A terence haren from clare
Now Hanora (no idea of her maiden name) settled here with her 3 daughters Bridgett, Katie and Annie   John the Father had maybe Passed away previously
Apparently Milltown Malbay is like 10 Miles from Inagh too
Maybe we can get a few Haren researchers together on these lot or get in contact with harens in clare interested in research
I did see Somewhere that HARENS originally came from Donegal, 3 brothers
Wondering if name too was Originally German

Hello Cathy,

I am presently searching my local newspaper on microfiche and came across a marriage in 1864 of Ann Harran, whose father was John Harran. of Clover Hill, Kiltyfergal.
I'm sure you too, have come across the different spellings of the name.

My three Haren men left Tullaghaboy for Australia.

Patrick Haren - baptised 23 October, 1852, single, died 17 April, 1925 in Armidale N.S.W.

Michael Haren - baptised 5 August, 1854.  Arrived on 'The Guinea' 1878.  Married - Emma Hutchinson on 12 May, 1886 in Armidale, N.S.W. they had 8 children.  Died: 17 July, 1934 buried in  Uralla Cemetery.

Timothy Haren - baptised 20 February, 1862.  Occupation Baker. Arrived in Oz on board 'Assaye' on 3 September, 1883.  Married - Sarah McCormack, on 4 March, 1889.  They had 6 children.  He died, 11 July, 1944 in Sydney and buried in Rockwood Cemetery.

I don't know if they went out to a relative already in Australia.

I know Bonny Tom did a lot of research and I wrote to her last year, but no reply.

It would be great if all heads came together to sort out the Haren's from Clare.  I know Liz in the U.S. has a Haren website.

Sorry, Cathy not sure the origins of the Haren name!!

Regards,
DoireM

Hi Doire:)
Thanks for your reply...yes my great Grandmother on Shipping list here was listed as HARHAN another as Haran soooo i too dont put much into spellings of surnames either as they spometimes changed spellings too
Yes ive had contact with Liz Haren before re Harens her lot were from Quilty i believe not sure how far that is from Milltown Malbay and Inagh
I checked the 1901 Census for a Thomas Haren may be brother of my lot who according to rellies here was a Teacher, found one in letterkelly\Talk is there was a sister Mary who went to states too, married there in 1850s
Had contact with a lady in States researching her tho she says there was a Sister Margaret and a Patrick who came to Australia  Cant seem to find him
Well The search goes on...are u in states?
