Hello psolbergs and welcome to Rootschat!

The information I have on my great grandmother's brother Daniel,  is that he was born in Tulloughboy, Parish of Kilmaley in Co. Clare.  His date of birth/baptism is 25 March 1870.  Sponsors were Daniel Haren and Nora McGuane.  Daniel's parents were John and Hannah (Murphy) Haren.  Daniel was one of 12 children!

So where did your Daniel immigrate to?

I have recently obtained my Great-Grandfather's marriage license.  His parents are listed at Daniel Haren and Mary Coughlin (both of Ireland).  His name was Daniel Haren; his birth year is approx 1872.  He married Catherine Scanlon (also from Ireland) in Buffalo NY in November 1901.  One of the witnesses to the wedding was James Haren who I am assuming was a close relative to my Great Grandfather- perhaps brother or cousin.

Thank you.  I did find that information on the familysearch site.  I am a bit concerned that this may not be him since the birth years do not align.  The marriage license states that he is 29 in 1901.  I am trying  to determine if there was another Daniel Haren and Mary Coughlin (which does not appear to be the case).

Thanks again.

Patricia

Hello Patricia,

I came across this piece of information I had, it is a sister of your Daniel.

Bridget Haren daughter of Daniel Haren and Mary Coughlin.  Baptised June 1873.  Sponsors: Pat Murphy and Anne Haren of Tullaghboy.

Will keep a look out, something tells me our Haren's are connected!

In the Kilmaley Parish birth records there is a Michael Haren born February 11, 1862 to Daniel Haren and Mary Couglan, his godparents are listed as Patrick Crowley and Mary Crowley.  His home is listed as Tullaghaboy

Additionally, Daniel Haren is listed as the occupier of land in Tulloghaboy in the 1855 Griffith's Valuation.

I apologize, my last posting should have stated Daniel Haren was an occupier of the land in the 1826 Tithe Applotments and not the Griffith's.
