Before the original church in Linwood was built, Linwood was a part of Kilbarchan parish.

Craigends was where much of Houston is now built on. The Craigends house was demolished years ago and stood on roughly where Cunningham Gardens is just now. Craigends was owned by the Cunninghame family who originally came from North Ayrshire.

Fultons is the lands that are in between Linwood & Houston.
