Hi there,

Sandy, Jenn's making a very good point...  I have many "translated" errors in my NSW forebears....  I will amend that post to read a POSSIBLE sister for Henry....

Sorry,

JM

There are a number of births on the indexes to a couple named
Charles Benedict FISCHER and Emily Caroline FISCHER.

I am not at all persuaded that they are relevant. Births in Sydney

Using the original spelling, here is the probable death of the probably correct CHARLES in Mudgee

In 1900 .FISHER, CHARLES. father's name -POWELL at MUDGEE  reg.2455

Hi Jenn,  in my Kentish forebears I've got "Harrison" transcribed as "Dorrisen" - twas only sorted out for me by a good RChatter ....

Bit More,

A transcription of the 1871 NSW birth of Mary E Ficher would indicate if she had older siblings, and would give further genie info on her parents too....

Cheers,

JM

I've had a good read of the NSW Govt Gaz for  three pages from Aug 20, 1859 (petition of Mudgee residents re propective municipality local government status)..... Not found any likely surnames....

Still looking.

This may be worth noting from Free bmd

Birth June 1/4  1870 at Lexden

FISHER, Henry Herbert
Vol 4a,  pg.336

It would not be the first time that someone believed they were born in one place, but it was actually in another ;D

Hi Sue,

You could be right, maybe he thought or told he was born in Mudgee but he actually wasn't born in Australia. The little boy that was born and died in WA was definitely my grandfather's brother.

Many thanks for this. Also thankyou to JM and Jenn for looking as well.
