Rivelin Valley Families
« on: Saturday 10 October 09 19:15 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am wanting to find anyone who has a book about the Rivelin Valley Families.
It's named "A Tree in the Valley" &  now out of print.
I did  borrow a copy once  from the Sheffield City Library that was in a very poor condition & now they no longer have a copy to borrow.

That book appears to be about the Mayfield/Porter valleys rather than the Rivelin.

First thing you need to do is get the ISBN number for it, as it seems to be a nin-unique title.

Many thanks for your imput.
I have had a look at the site mentioned & can only find a copy available at the University of Sheffield.
I think that you may have to hold a University Library card to borrow from there.

How did you manage to get the copy & is it still available?

If not available would you be able to take a photo of the Lawson Family & e-mail it to me?

That would truly make my day.

Hi Michael

Is that the one of George LAWSON (1853-1917) of Fairthorn Farm Redmires with his second wife Lucilla..?

There is also one of Charity Ann nee LAWSON (1848-1917) wife of William FOX. Brown Hills Farm.

I have had the book for years.

PM me your email address.

The Lawson family you mention are the right ones.
I would be most grateful for a copy of any photos that you can send me.

Don't suppose you would be interested in selling the Book? as I have been trying to buy one for ages & been told it's now out of print.

Please let me know as I can make a very good offer.
