Anthony HOTCHKIN of - COMPLETED
« on: Friday 16 October 09 09:21 BST (UK) »
Please, can you help me. Anthony HOTCHKIN of ?....?

The below appears in a 1741 Will.

I don't know if the following helps. He has a monument in the chancel of Ketton Church, Rutland, describing him as a Grocer and Citizen of London who died in 1763.

Regards
Grantley

Could it be Sewstern?

Listed as a parish in Leicestershire.

Thankyou Jen.

You may be correct. I am having trouble reconciling him with Sewstern, but it is within the area of the family.

This Will abstract was dated 6th August 1741.

I have since confirmed that;
- on the 17th October 1740, Anthony was "of the Parish of Allhallows the Great, of the City of London, Grocer"
- on the 29th December 1753, Anthony was "of Bread Street Hill, City of London, Grocer"

Even after a few drinks, I can't see "London", but get close.

Grantley
