Did anyone out there ever see him taking his Lion for a walk around Chester Le Street? I have a book My Wild Friends plus a couple of photos that were signed to my late Ma in Law.

Often, he was a well known character in and around Chester-le-Street and it was not uncommon for to bump into him along Picktree Lane with Elsa his lioness on the lead

Hi there. After doing a bit of digging I have discovered that James Walton was my great grandfathers cousin. I was wondering if there was any way I could see an image of the signed photos? I would be so grateful!

Thank you Stan.

Spent an hour or two on a lazy (but hot) Sunday afternoon looking at the Chester-le-Street site.

In the Pelton Memorial section the plaque dedicated to Sgt. Lenehan left me hanging as the space on the plaque could not give a full biography of Sgt. John Donald Lenehan, RCAF, of New Brunswick, Canada who was killed in the local accident 5 December 1941.
