BYAS
« on: Monday 19 October 09 08:36 BST (UK) »
Hi all. Trying to establish whetehr there is anyone left in the Orkneys with my surname...BYAS.  My family left there in the mid 1800s went to Galsgow, then my particular line onto to the USA & then to New Zealand.
Is there anyone out there with Byas heritage in their family?
I'd love to hear from you!

I have had a look in the local Orkney phone directory and there are no Byas in it, ( lots of Byers though ) I see you already know about the orkney family history society. You could try putting a notice in the local paper " the orcadian " I have seen people with ads looking for relatives
