My great great grandmother was Elizabeth Morgan - She was born in Derrynoose to Michael Morgan and Catherine ?

I'm wondering if there is a connection here?

P

Hi paul_mc

I don't know of a connection, but Mike, mmitchell, who has also been part of this thread, gave me some Morgan baptisms from Derrynoose and there is one Elizabeth Morgan born to Michael Morgan and Catharine McMahon, baptised at Derrynoose 27th July 1828. Would that date fit your Elizabeth? Unfortunately I don't think baptisms for that date are available online yet.
Earliest I can see is for this Parish is 1835.
Mike, if you see this can you refresh my memory on where the baptisms came from.

Hi.

Miles Morgan and Ann Lennon were my great great great grandparents.

Another long lost cousin!

Hi Caroline, I wonder if our Ann Lennon's could be cousins?  I haven't been able to connect Miles to my Alexander Morgan yet.  Will send you a pm

Yes Kerry

That is her, I thought her mothers maiden name might be McMahon but the writing on her death very was so bad I could only guess at this. Now Igbo back and yes it is . Thank you for this wonderful piece of information . Does the list say anything else? Were there any other children listed ? p

This gives sources for Derrynoose Catholic registers- looks like earlier baptisms 1814 and earliest marriages 1808-

Link to the above page appears at bottom of online parish records-

Paul_Mc I believe your Elizabeth Morgan, would be the sister of my great great grandmother Margaret Morgan. I just in past day found proof that they were sisters from the 1851 census.

I have parents as Michael and Catharine / Catherine Morgan (nee McMahon), siblings I have found are Elizabeth, Biddy (Bridget I am guessing), Elizabeth, Thomas and Mary.  In 1851 census Catharine is listed as Widow Morgan, youngest child is 5, so Michael must have died between 1845 and 1851. All children are listed as being born in Ireland. I found Elizabeth's marriage cert which stated Derrynoose as parish in Ireland.
