Please help to Find a Ship
« on: Saturday 31 October 09 12:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Ellen KING  born 1908 (lived in Halebank, Widnes, Lancashire) travelled from Southampton to South Africa in the latter half of 1947.

Can anyone tell me the name of the name of the ship and any other details that are written in the ship log books.

Many thanks for your help.

Cant see anything relating to leaving Southampton for South Africa, but she arrived back on the 19th March 1948, upon the capetown Castle.  Address listed was 59 Foundry Lane, halebank.

Thanks Phil, unfortunately these are not my Eleanor, she was British!

I know for sure she went through the Canadian boarder through Buffalo, USA.

She was going to visit her brother in Ontario Canada.

Hi England Phil
Many thanks for this, but I'm not sure it's the right King because Ellen was born as a 'King' - unless she married someone with the same name - like a cousin. I'll double check some details.

Hi Familytreefreak
Could you please create a new thread for your enquiry as I receive all responces to my enquiry.
