Looking at the information re places you give 1901 has:

Killadeer (townland) Parish Ballyhean
Michael 77yrs farmer
Sarah 65 yrs wife
Patrick 72 yrs brother
Michael 22 yrs
James 20 yrs

Michael and James seem young to be the sons compared with Patrick b 1857  ???

Hi
I am also a great grand daughter of Michael and Sarah Costello, married in 1957. My grandfather was John Costello born jun 1866. He married Catherine Armstrong and my father William was their youngest child so although he was born 14th December 1911, he is not on the census as Catherine was pregnant with him. My father left the farmstead as a young man and settled in Manchester UK where he married my mother and we are a family of 6 siblings. He was raised in Ardogommon, Aghagower North. His elder brother Tommy stayed on the farm and married mary. They are both deceased and have living children, some are now Dublin based.

See census 1911. Like you I would love more info on Michael. If you go onto 'these genes have Irish eyes' mayo website their is info re Sarah Campbell who was granddaughter of nan Campbell. If you have anymore info PSE let me know.
Best wishes
Julia Costello
