Blairdrummond / Kincardine Moss Map
« on: Thursday 05 November 09 23:01 GMT (UK) »
I apologise if I have posted this before but this link will take anyone interested to a map of Blairdrummond / Kincardine Moss.
I think the map depicts the area as in circa 1900. If anyone can put an accurate date on it, I would be most interested in knowing.
I had often wondered why a school had been built in such a sparsely populated area until I saw this map.

Cheers.

Hi my great great grandfather James Heron B1843 Blairgowrie married Janet Buchanan , daughter of John Buchanan and Janet McGibbon, in 1870 @ Blair Drummond.

Janet was 23 at the time and was a domestic servant.

James was a gardener at the Pollok Estate near to Glasgow and went onto be the Head Gardener there.

So not sure how they would have crossed paths to meet.
