Hello!  I am new to the site.  My mother was born in San Antonio Los Angeles ans this is what I know:  It was really Rancho San Antonio, originally owned by Spaniards that were wealthy land owers.  The ranchos are all over California.  My m๔ther was born in1929  in what became Lynnwood, California.  Rancho San Antonio is primarily made up of towns in East Los Angeles.  I hope this helps.

I have ancestors listed in the 1860 Census in "San Antonio Township".  The census form identifies its location in Monterey County.  The San Antonio Valley Historical Association (P. O. Box 145 Lockwood, CA 93932) may be helpful for those with ancestors listed in the township.
