Hi

Do you know what religion these people would be? Also do you know where abouts they lived in their areas.

Also can i ask how a birth certificate would have the dates of Marriage.

Scottish birth certs include year and place of parents marriage .. so I suppose that may be where the info can from.

sorry if I misled  :-\
it was the marraige certificates of their respective children that I got the information on!
I presume they were all protestant, however  I am not sure!
the certificates only mention the place name!
thank you again!

I have marraige details of two sets of ancesters from their respective childrens marraige certificates , but dont know anything else about them!
Robert McCrorie married Margaret Adair in  Carrickfergus on 26.6.1874.
Alexander Lewis married Margaret Orr in Carncastle on 1.5.1856.
I do not know but think they were all protestants but not sure!

Elinga- as per PM I've merged your two threads to avoid needless confusion and duplication.
Irish marriage certificates list exact place (church or Registry Office) and date of marriage, names of bride and groom as well as their residences at time of marriage, occupations, marital status, fathers' names and occupations as well as names of two witnesses.
Last week Shane found the details of one marriage you are looking for and details on how to order the certificate if you want to trace your family further back.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I have not been able to find anything promising on the civil index for the Lewis / Orr marriage - there are a few Margaret Orr marriages around the right time, but I dont see any Alexander Lewis marriages listed.

if it's possible that they were Catholic, then their marriage would not be included in the civil index.
