Hi,

I recently stumbled upon this thread about the Whitney's of Dudley/Manchester. Cornelius and Esther are my great great grandparents and there son Albert Reginald is my great grandad.

Any information you have or want to share would be great. I only signed up to this site as I came across this thread!

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for getting in touch. I have only been researching our Whitney's really in the last couple of months, so im very glad to hear there is also someone else doing the same. My grandad was Albert Reginald Whitney b1930 in Manchester, his parents Joseph H Whitney b1897 Dudley (Cornelius's son) & Clara Briggs. My grandad married Edith Geliher (still living) & they had 3 children, Christine (my mum), David & Paul.  Albert Reginald Whitney died in 1968, yet my gran kept in touch with most of my grandad's brothers & sisters.

I will forward you my email address privately, as it would be great to keep in touch & to share what information we have.

Regards Tracie

As stated Esther Nora Brassington was my grandfather's sister.
Albert and my mum were first cousins making your mum and me second cousins. My email is  (*)   if you would like to contact me. Put the name Whitney family in the subject box to ensure that I pick it up.

Hi Chris,

My great grandad, Albert Reginald Whitney had a sister Edith born Gorton, Manchester around 1901. Is this the Edith were both on about? What information do you have on Edith, her brothers, mother, father etc?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Wayne Haughton.

Hi Wayne, Sorry I didn't make it very clear, I am related to Tracie on her maternal side. Her mother is my cousin and her gran was my aunt Edith Geliher. I lost touch with all my Dads family after he died and stumbled on Tracie while searching for Geliher on this site. Sorry about that.
