I don't see Dillon or Ronan in the Tithe Applotment book (1830s) for Derry Civil Parish Ross. That doesn't mean they weren't there they probably were but didn't have a holding big enough to pay a tithe.
There are no Dillons there in Griffiths Valuation(1850s) but there is a John Ronane.

There are Dillons in the Civil Parish of Ross in other townlands.

Thank you so much for this! It is so interesting. I have tried to look for James Dillon and his wife. I found the marriage which was in Barly Hill in 1834. Would this be close by? I can't however find any births. Is there any way I can find from here their professions and where exactly they lived? Thankyou so much once again.

Your unlikely to find an occupation but life was much the same for everyone.
Small farmer or agricultural labourer there are some mills and at least two 'big' houses so possible employment there.

Hello just got my great grandmothers marriage cert from Pontypridd. She married in 1860. It states her father was Timothy Dillon; who also lived in Treforest but both him and Catherine were born in Cork. I think it was Roscarberry. Could anyone help me find them? Kind regards
