Holland - MARKS family

Hi all,
Have no idea where to start with this one.  My 3rd g-grandfather was Hyam MARKS who married Esther (surname u/k).  According to English Census records they were both born in Holland, Hyam about 1801 and Esther about 1808.  I do not know if they married in Holland or England.  They had their first of many children in 1833 in London, England.

What records are available in Holland? How do I find their births, who their parents were and when/why they went to England?

Where would these records be held in Holand?  I am planning on going there for a few days next year.

Any help/direction would be appreciated!
