Thanks Angiewe for your response! I have been away from working on my family tree for sometime. It was a wonderful hobby but was keeping me up late at night and taking a lot out of me. It is so nice to see so many people getting involved. I do remember an Eileen in the family. Your mother would have been my mother's great aunt.  My mom's dad was Robert b. 1905. He emigrated in 1923 (?) to Canada, was married and had 4 children. My mom is the youngest.

I have fond memories of your grandfather, Robert Albin.

It's lovely when relatives are re-united here on Rootschat but we aren't allowed to post details of living people (it is explained in Help pages under Posting Guidelines) so you'll both need to review your posts here and remove some of the details. You can use the PM (Personal Message) system to exchange recent family details, email address, etc.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Your family may have been descendants of French Huguenots (protestants) as Aubigny might have been the original name which is of course French. Another possibility is a Swiss connection as Swiss weavers may have ended up in Northern Ireland too. Just a thought.

Belfast News Letter Wed, Oct 7 1874
SABBATH SCHOOL FESTIVAL -The annual festival was given on last Friday to the children of Rockmacreany Sabbath School, in the room, Rockmacreany, so elegantly fitted up by Mr William Albin. The attendance was large, notwithstandinfg the severity of the weather. After an abundant supply of tea and currant cake had been disposed of, interesting addresses were given by the superintendant of the school, Mr William Albin, Mr Robert Barrett, Rev J W Jonce, and J M Lynn Esq, M.D. Devotional exercises brought the meeting to a close.
