Scots Guards magazine 1989 - WALDRON
« on: Tuesday 24 November 09 06:50 GMT (UK) »
Absolute long shot but has anyone got a copy of the Scots Guard Magazine from 1989.  I believe there is in it an article, I presume an obituary, on Captain F.A.L. Waldron.  I'm trying to discover whether he could have known my grandmother  when she was married and living in Chesterfield in the early years of World War 2.  I know he was at Trinity College Oxford in 1938/39 when he was a rowing blue.  He was in the Oxford Air Squadron but then had air sickness once it came to flying so joined the Scots Guards.  He was I think quite seriously injured. Information from this magazine would be extremely helpful.
Thankyou.

Excellent, Glad I could help,  I was waiting a reply from a fellow Scots Guardsman who is a "bit of a magpie" and probably has the 1989 magazine in his mountain of militaria.

Hope your quest bears fruit.

Regards

James

Jo,

Hi. Funnily enough, I was doing a bit of family research about F.A.L. Waldron. He was a relative of my wife and we just had his daughter staying with us. Might you be able to share the magazine? I've found out a bit of info. in my search and am most happy to share this, if it were of interest.

Kind regards,
George
