Rose Young

Has anyone any information regarding a Rose Young born in Londonderry(not sure when). She married a Robert Mooney in 1896. Had a son also named Robert in1897.  The father died(accident?)in 1897 same time as son was born.I think her father was named Charles and her mother .was Catherine nee Wilton.  Supposedly Catherine was related to a Lord Mayor of Londonderry. Any information would be most welcome.  Thanks

I have a Rose Anne Young with some sort of connection to my family, however my Rose Anne was still going by this name in 1910 when she was witness to the double wedding of my grandmothers brother and sister, David McConnell [to Sarah Cassidy] and Jessie McConnell  [to George Moss] at Carlisle Road Presbyterian Church.

My grandmother was Lilly Young McConnell and her father John Young McConnell.

The reason for my interest is that another sister of Jessie and David's, Margaret [or possibly Maude] married William Wilton, brother of the future Mayor of Londonderry James Wilton.
Their son, William McConnell Wilton, had a funeral business in Belfast.

For your information, Robert George Mooney and his grandmother Catherine Young [ nee Wilton] were in 1911 living in Gordon Place Londonderry with a family named Hawkins, and listed as relatives.
No sign of Rose Anne.

     17 Apr 1900 William Wilton married MATILDA MARY McConnell in Carlisle Rd. Presbyterian Church, Londonderry City.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for your reply.  Since posting query I have found a little more about Rose Ann.  She married a William Duckett in Scotland.  She is in the Scottish Census 1901 she then moved back to Londonderry where my mother was born in August 1901.  They lived in Nailors Gate(1911 census)but seem to flit between Scotland and Ireland.  They then came to Bolton Lancs but I do not know when.  She always said she was related to a Lord Mayor of Londonderry.  So could we talking about the same Rose Ann.??.  Regards Sheila.

Yes that's my great aunt, Matilda, remember now she was known as Maude.
Married William Wilton bother of James and Robert.
James being Mayor of Londonderry.

No i don't think they are the same Rose Anne. But if yours is connected to the Wiltons above then we share the same cousins but from different sides.

There is nother thread on the Wiltons showing the parents and family of James/William/Robert but i don't think there is a mention of a  Catherine Wilton as one of their aunts.
