My great grandmother is Mary Hawkins(nee young) who is the daughter of Catherine young who was widowed according to the 1901 census she was living in Dark lane along with John Young her son and a grand daughter called Martha Jane Peoples(not sure whose daughter she was). In the 1911 census Catherine and Robert Mooney who was a nephew had moved into Gordon place with Mary and Frederick Hawkins my great grandfather. Cannot find any trace of Rose Young on any records so far but thanks to the information here have found out Catherine’s husband and maiden name

Rose Ann young married a Robert Mooney who died in an accident.   She had a son named Robert    Robert junior died in 1st world war.  She moved to Bolton  Lancashire.  Her eldest daughter Margaret Alice duckett married Henry bromiley in Bolton.  Margaret and Henry were my parents.  For some reason not  known Robert Mooney  stayed in Ireland with his grandmother.

Thanks it appears that Rose was Mary's older sister and it explains a bit more why Robert Mooney jnr was living in the household along with Catherine his grandmother. Not sure if you have seen it but there is a link http://www.diamondwarmemorial.com/soldiers/view/900 where it explains a bit more about Robert who died in WW1 at the somme

I do have some information on the Youngs, etc. but before I post it all wondering if Rose Ann Young's husband William Duckett was from Lancashire?

Haven't been searching for William Duckett (it is an uncommon Derry surname) but if he was born in Lancashire and possibly served in Boer War then I have found some interesting and sad details for him. Will finish typing out the Young family then post.
