« on: Sunday 29 November 09 21:00 GMT (UK) »
I'm wondering if some kind person could take a photo for me please.

3 Union Place in the Parish of St. Sepulchre, Northampton.

My ggg grandfather was a bootmaker and lived there from 1852-1854 maybe till 1856.

Thank you

Hi Jackie.  :)

I am not sure, yet someone will correct me I hope, if I am wrong.

Union Place was near to Lower Harding St and is now the
Grafton St Industrial Estate.

It may point someone in the right direction for you though, in case
it is still standing.

You can view the area on Alan Clarke's Victorian map, it is NO. 77.

If the victorian map is correct then union place has gone.

you can see a picture of the grafton street industrial estate f you go to bing.com, select  maps and put lower harding street, northampton in the search box, when the map comes up opt for birds eye view.

If there is anywhere else around northampton you need a photo of let me know.

Hi Jackie.

No luck with a photograph of Union Place, although I did find some
of Lower and Upper Harding Street.

Also some old maps showing the nearby area.

I will P.M. you about getting copies to you.

I live in Northampton and my relation Elizabeth Spencer (b 1826) was from Union Place. Sadly it has all gone, together with the other 'closes' (inc Johnson Row, just up the road).
