there's no sign in of the business in Little Ship street in either 1863 or 1877, but there may be two possible connections in the 1877 edition :

Wm. Curtis & sons, brassfounders, gasfitters and pump manufacturers
    98 & 99 Middle Abbey St.

James Healy, brass founder & gas fitter, 4 Dame court

William Curtis business is also present at the same address in 1863.

Thanks Shane,
Perhaps it's some time later that they amalgamated, My father used to deal with them in the 1940's
But at least I have the names now. That looks like William and James.

There is no trace of C&H in Little Ship Street in The Irish Times (1859-1901)
That newspaper shows that William Curtis & Sons were at No25 -29 Chancery Lane from at least 1859 until May 1872 when they moved to 98 Middle Abbey Street . My 1911 Thoms shows them there but there is no entry for them for 1923.
The first reference to C&H is in Thoms 1942 when they were in Mecklenburgh Lane. Thoms 1934 has no reference to them.
If you require more information just come back

Hi, I've been looking for info on Curtis brass foundry and found all your info great, they took over from Hodges brass foundry on mid abbey st in 1865 and shop was burned in 1916 rising. I know Edward Curtis worked on Titanic for some months. If anyone has any more info on Curtis and sons I'd be most grateful!!

I was wondering if you have any connection to William Curtis who I believe was my great great grandfather? I am also searching for any information about the family.

Welcome to RootsChat James.
This is quite and old thread and a lot more records have come online since.
Can you give us some dates for William Curtis to work with and any names to go with him, his wife would be good.
