What're the chances the name Ball is rare around these parts....?

James Ball was born in Monaghan c1800, so was his wife, Margaret. They had 4 children - Mary, John Henry, James and Thomas. Presumably they married  c1825 (in a Catholic church). The eldest, Thomas, was born in Ireland c1827, it looks like the rest were born soon after (the last c1834). They settled in Liverpool c1840.

Just edited previous post to reflect what I know now. Still don't know where to start looking in Monaghan - any suggestions would be welcome.
