I've also managed to purchase a huge number of Truefitt/Truffit birth/marriage/death certificates (for which I could have gone on holiday somewhere nice)! :-p

It's a complicated family tree, as the fishing families of Scarborough were closely interlinked. I'm directly related to the Truefitt family twice! :-)

Please do get in touch, as it'll save you quite a bit of money on BMD certificates.

Cheers,

Nick King

Hi,

Isaac Truefitt was born on 30th March 1799 in Staithes, and was baptised on 4th April 1799 - the son of William and Eleanor (I *think* that her surname was Burton, but that's going on information provided by other people, as I need to go to the North Yorkshire Record Office at some point to verify).

Isaac married Ann Craddock on 4th March 1821 in Hinderwell, and they had (at least) 9 children:

William, Ann, Mary Hannah, Eliza, Rachel, Isaac, Susan, Burton and Jane Elizabeth.

Ann married Thomas Watson Shaw, and their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Shaw was my Great Great Grandmother (she married John Gowland).

Also, Jane Elizabeth married William Bowering Harwood, and their daughter, Sarah Ann Harwood married the son of John Gowland and Elizabeth Ann Shaw, Thomas Gowland - my Great Grandfather).

Anyway, let me know what you're trying to find out, and I'll do my best to assist - I've got all the marriage/death certificates for Isaac and Ann's children.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi,

Do you mean the William Truefitt (born 1750, died 1819) who was the father of Isaac, or William who was Isaac and Eleanor's son (born 1823, died 1886)?

Cheers,

Nick ;-)

Nick,

I stumbled across this thread in during a google search (yes, I was googling myself  :) )

I noticed you mentioned that you have a photo of Matthew Bullamore as well as some articles.  Could you possibly send these items to me?

I was surprised to find this ancestor with the exact same name had my same birthday as well.  Odd coincidence!

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi,

No problem - send me a private message with your address and I can send a CDR with JPG scans of the family (there's 26 pages).

[Not allowed to attach a sample image, unfortunately...]  ???

Cheers,

Nick
