Looking for Gear/Petrie(Adams)
« on: Wednesday 16 December 09 20:26 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for any info regarding my Great Grandparents - Thomas McKenzie Adams (died at Old Mens Club, East Wemyss but residential address was West High Street, Buckhaven) and Agnes Wallace.(died at Methilhaven Home, Methil)  I know that they had quite a few children including my grandmother Annie Adams (who through marriage became a Williamson) who died in 1971. Other children that I know of were John born abt 1897, William about 1899, Euphemia, Walter, Mary, Nessa and Agnes born abt 1900. Agnes married a Walter Gear and had two children -  Agnes (Senga)and Ronald both born in Buckhaven, Fife.

My Mum has lived in Wales for many many years and she can remember Agnes Gear who she worked with when she was very young, and who I believe married an Alexander Petrie (but not positive about this) My Mum dosen't remember lots and lots of info that I need to try and compile the tree.

Basically I am looking for any help in finding either Agnes Gear or any of her family or maybe descendants of John, Mary, Nessa, Euphemia (known as Amy) or Walter Adams

Apologies if I have posted this thread in the wrong place .....

Many thanks

Thomas Adams 25, coal miner b. Doune, Perthshire
Agens Adams 25 b. Cowdenbeath, Fifeshire
John Adams 4
William Adams 2
Agnes Adams 7 months

Address: Kinglassie, Fife

Thanks for that,  yes that is the right family Agnes at the time was seven months, she then married Walter Gear and had two children one of them also called Agnes (known as Senga) and Ronald - I am actually trying to find living relatives if possible to try and fill in some gaps - in fact quite a lot of gaps !!!

yes indeed it is - but my Mum seems to think that Agnes Gear would be able to fill in a lot of the gaps ........ I still have other relatives who live in Scotland, but nobody seems to interested in doing the family tree.

The problem you have is not being local to one of the genealogy research centres in Scotland (Edingburgh & Glasgow) where you can view more modern certificates on line outside of the cut off periods for viewing images on line on Scotlands People.

It always a pity when you feel you are the only one in the family with the passion to go back...

I have checked on Genes Reunited which is better for more recent connections for Agnes Adams Gear's children but nothing showing there unfortunately.

Hopefully someone may come across your post here on RC and be in touch  :)

I have just discovered that it was Euphemia who married Walter Gear not Agnes - Agnes married Walter Hynds !! Euphemia then had two children Ronald and Agnes (known as Senga) ............................
