Molly is another name for Mary.  My late mother in law was Mary but was also known as Molly. Maureen is the gaelic form of little Mary (i.e. Mairin anglicsed as Maureen) There are a lot of Maureens in my family but they were mostly christened Mary.

My late grandmother, Marjorie (1903-1986), was known as Molly all her life.
