Is this my William Mellor?
« on: Friday 01 January 10 17:22 GMT (UK) »
The other day I received a death certificate for William Mellor who died on 3 April at the Union Workhouse in Honley, West Yorkshire.  He was a plasterer.

For some time I have been trying to find the death certificate of my 3x great grandfather William Mellor but I still don't know if this is the right one.

A previous certificate I applied for some time ago was for a death in 1886 but that wasn't right either :-\.  My William was a pedlar in 1881.

All I know is that he was born about 1823 in Scarborough, Yorkshire and died some time between 1881 and 1891.

His son William (my 2x great grandfather) died at Oldfield Buildings, Huddersfield in 1882.  He must have fallen ill whilst visiting his father and died.

I would appreciate some help with this little problem :-[

Thanks.
