Convict work records

I would like to know if there is any records on line to show where convicts were sent to work what area and who's property etc.

What state of Australia are you looking for, and what sort of year. These details are included in convict records, also routinely in newspapers - depends on place and era.

Thank you for your reply I am looking for NSW in the Inverell area about 1840 to 1868 I am not sure when it all stoped

Hmmmm - don't know about NSW - a local might be able to assist. In Tasmania yes, and online. I do not think there is much for convict records online for NSW. Is it worth trying NLA newspapers for a name search and time frame - assuming it is a less common name?.
