Isaac Rodgers/Rogers b 1830
« on: Saturday 09 January 10 14:37 GMT (UK) »
I would be most grateful if someone going to the PRONI would have the time to perhaps check out any or all of the ten Presbyterian Churches established in Belfast by 1835.

I am looking for a baptism record for Isaac Rodgers/Rogers.  He was my gt gt grandfather, but I have no details of his birth.  He lived and died in Belfast, so I am hoping he was born there.  I know that he was a member of some Protestant Church, and am hoping to exclude them one by one, in the hopes of finding his birth.
He married Rose Anne Daly in St Patrick's RC church in 1855.  It must have been a mixed marriage.

I would be so grateful to anybody who could even check out one or two churches for 1830 baptisms. He lived in the markets area, so maybe the most central locations of Belfast would be most likely.
Thank you
Lucy

Hi

This post is very old but l have just now joined this site. My ancestor David Devlin b 1846 married a Mary Ann Rogers/Rodgers in 1867 Belfast in st Anns (COI).  Mary Ann's father was an Isaac Rogers. I have not tried to follow him back as concentrating on Devlin line atm. Mary Ann was born in Tyrone in 1840 (5 yrs older than her husband). They also named one son b 1879 Isaac Richard Devlin. Thought it possible she may have had an older brother Isaac born 10 yrs earlier. If that is the case maybe Tyrone records would be worth a look also?

Thank you for your reply Maxi!
It is a long time now since I hit the brick wall that is Isaac Rodgers, I almost forget how to research it nowadays.
I think the only thing I can do is subscribe to Irish Roots website and look through the Protestant Church Baptisms.  Hopefully I will find something going back as far as 1830.
Thank you for the lead.
Best of luck with your own research

There are probably reminders on your other thread, saves others looking for what has already been found.
