Searching the site

Hi,
I'd like to have a better search engine for the forums. My interest is in the name "Vance" but when I search for that, I get every post with the word "advance" as well.
And everyone signs off "thanks in advance" so I get hundreds of irrelevant posts to look at.
It would be better if one could also input "not advance"

Hi Jamie,

I've removed the poll from your topic as this is not open to discussion or votes.  The search engine is a part of the forum software, so a new search engine for this site would mean a new forum software and that isn't an option at the moment.

We already know that the search engine isn't very good in some respects, but there are a few tips here that might help:
