2nd Presbyterian, Shankhill
« on: Tuesday 15 March 05 19:01 GMT (UK) »
My ancestors were married in 1847 in the 2nd Presbyterian Church, Shankhill Parish, Belfast. Can anyone tell me if this church is still there?
I'm new. Hope this is the right place to post this.

Hi. do you know the name of the Church and the name of the road & the names of your Ancestors.
I have a 1852 Belfast Street Directory if you give me their names i will see if i can find them.

The Shankill Parish was a large area in 1847.

Thanks Anthony,
The only name of the church I know was 2nd Presbyterian. I don't know what street it was on. The names were Robert Burns & Eliza McCormick and children.

Thanks Anthony. That probably is him as he was a car driver in 1847.

Hello Dollard,

You asked if the Shankhill 2nd Presbyterian is still there. It does not show on this site but you may be interested in having a look

Hi. One of these could be Eliza's father.

1852 Patrick M'Cormick Stonemason Keenan's Place Bellymacarrett, East Belfast.

Thomas M'Cormick Grocer & Haberdasher, Wheeler's Place Ballymacarrett, East Belfast.

Thanks Anthony. Her father was Mathew McCormick. I don't know where he lived or what he did.
