Wood and Whitelaw jewellers Glasgow
« on: Thursday 21 January 10 20:46 GMT (UK) »
Grandfathers brother was William Dunn Wood born 1874 Glasgow. He became a silver engraver and started up in business with a chap called Whitelaw. From the 1827 street index for Glasgow I have Wood and Whitelaw Goldsmiths, Jewellers and Engravers, 84,Miller Street, Glasgow. Would appreciate any more information on this business.

The firm would appear to have been still operating in 1904/1905 as an example of their work from that time can be seen at http://www.bexfield.co.uk/thefinial/pdf/18-05.pdf and their makers mark at http://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Makers/Glasgow-SZ.html although both items appear to be silver rather than gold.
