LLANABER BAPTISM
« on: Thursday 21 January 10 21:41 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find the father of my ancestor Robert Davies.  Robert was born in Llanaber parish in about September 1850 (the 1851 census records him as Robert Davies, 6 months old).

His mother was Ann(e) Griffith, so I think he was illegitimate but took his father's surname.  It this normal?   I feel fairly confident that he would have been baptised in Llanaber church as the family seem to by Anglican.  Does anyone have access to the Llanaber Baptismal Registers and could look to see if there was a Robert Davies or Griffith baptised there, with a mother Ann(e) around or shortly after September 1850.  I'd be really grateful for any help.
