I am researching the ancestry of the Wright Family of Norfolk. My ancestors were from East Dereham, Kings Lynn, Fakenham, and Sculthorpe.

I am also descended from Samuel and Elizabeth Youngs through their Son Thomas who married Elizabeth Bell.
I had come to a halt on the Wright Family and have only found this thread by pure accident.
I hope that what I read here will help me with my Wright research.

Hello Radbod7 & welcome to RootsChat...

I have no info on your Thomas Wright other than that he was baptised privately at Ringland on 13 Nov 1792. I see from FreeReg that he was a widower when he married Elizabeth Bell at Thornham on 22 Jun 1815, do you have his first marriage?

As to his father Samuel Wright, I have a note saying he is son of Luke & Sarah Wright, baptised at Carleton Forehoe on 27 Sept 1761, however I have not done any further research to verify this.

Cheers John

Thanks John
I have seen what others have written in this thread about the Wright Family Genealogy and have seen the records upto  Will Wright and Easter. I havent found their Marriage record yet so that as far as i have gone with the wright side of the Family.

I have seen quite a bit of info about the Youngs Family going back to Capt Joseph s/o Christopher from other people but I have not found the linking records as yet.

I am not sure of the first marriage for thomas but will keep searching.

Cheers
Mike

Hi All
I hope you still read this thread. I am descended from Elizabeth and Samuel as I have said.
I am researching my Wright Family History.
I have come up against a brick wall a member of the Pleasants family tree. Have any Wright researchers searched this branch of the tree.

Namely the Wife of John Pleasants who was called Mary Hipkin and born around 1808. There are 2 Mary's who were both born at the same time and not far away from each other, so it is hard to know which of them was the Mary who married John in 1832.
Can anyone help?????
Thanks
Mike
