Hello

1810 to 1830 in Scotland - according to the OPR records on the official govt website, www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk (a ppv site) there is only one birth in all of Scotland for an Anderson Gibson.  His dob or ch. was 27/10/1818.  (Min £6.00 spend allows for the download of uop to 5 bmds/census recors, copes not transcripts).

27/10/1818 GIBSON ANDERSON DAVID GIBSON/ISABELLA RENTON FR367 M EDROM /BERWICK 738/ 0020 0110

Can't find any other children born to the couple or their marriage on SP.

I see that the IGI hasa 'submitted record' for an Anderson Gibso marrying a 'Margaret' abt 1847.

Regards,  Steve  :)

Anderson Marries Margaret Symington in august 1845 in Berwick-upon-Tweed,
and had the following children
David       1847
Elizabeth  1848
Isabella   1850
James A    1852
Alison        1855
Anderson   1856
William        1858
John            1862
Thomas       1863
George        1868
Robert         1871

Anderson and his brother William farmed at Burnhall, Coldingham from before 1861 till before the 1881 census, as he was a grocer in Coldingham in that census

The brother William is my great great grand father, father of John Alexander Gibson born in Dunse in 1850, who moved to Morpeth (as a Brewer) and married Mary Hopper and they had two daughters.

Hello. I saw you post about GIBSON family and ties to Edrom Parish. Would you have a John GIBSON born about 16 Aug 1808 in your family? I believe his parents to be David GIBSON and possibly Isabella RENTON. May have ties to Greenlaw as well, but not for sure.

Nearly two years since I last posted the questions about the Gibsons in Berwick-shire, now have more brick walls concerning 5 siblings!

ANDERSON born Blackpotts in 23 Jun 1877, married Margaret Chisholm in 1904 at Hilton and two children, Margaret 1905 and David 1911 also two who had died before the census in 1911

JULIA LOUGH born 8 Feb 1879 in Coldingham and married William Wood in 1906, no trace of any children

WILLIAM FORSYTH born 27 Jul 1881 in Coldingham

MARGARET born about 1883 in Coldingham and

SARAH ISABELLA born 18 Jan 1886 also Coldingham
Parents are David Gibson (1847 in Berwick) and Mary Forsyth  (1858 in Coldingham)
David was eldest son of Anderson Gibson (1819 to 1892) and was my GreatGreat-Grand Father's brother.
This family seems to flit between Berwick-shire and Northumberland fairly regularly!
including Berwick, Morpeth

Any help would be appreciated
regards
John
