can any one point me in the right direction for children born to soldiers who were serving in Longford at the time, looking for George hollis miller born 1869, father was charles edward miller serving in longford.

Births at this time should have been recorded with the local registrar and appear on the Irish Civil Index.

There is a possible match for George's birth  (duplicated in the index) :

There's a few other possible children listed for the couple (all submitted) from 1867 to about 1882 on the IGI born in England (1865 London) various places in Ireland (Tipperary 1867 & Longford 1869, and just Ireland 1869) and later in England (1875 & 1882 Salford). For a parent search, just enter the father and mothers names and no other details...
