John Roberts (born circa 1837) - Blacksmith in Chirk
« on: Thursday 25 February 10 09:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi, looking for info please if possible,

My Gt Aunt, Margaret Howell married John Roberts  at the Parish Church in Chirk  on 14 May 1864.

John Roberts was a Blacksmith and they lived in Penyclawydd at the time of their marriage. John’s sister  Edith (Roberts) Wilkinson was a witness at the wedding.

John & Margaret later moved to live at the Victoria rooms in Oswestry, where John continued to work as a Journeyman Blacksmith .,( they were still living there at the time of John’s death in 1896).

They had 3 children:
Sarah Jane born 1865.
John born 1868.
Alfred born 1869/70 ish.

I think the 2 sons moved away,  don't know for sure, but I cannot find out what happened to the daughter Sarah Jane.

Any information would be appreciated.

Maybe someone out there can help please?

Cheers.

Barbara.

P.S.Because Chirk /Denbigh & Oswestry/Shropshire are so close, I have placed this post on the Denbigh board as well.
